Thirty years ago, I created my first 3-D wire sculptures and mobiles from coat hangers. I soon switched to brass rods (which didn’t rust) creating musical instruments that wiggled and bounced.

In the late 1990s, I developed an original method to attach stained glass, geodes, glass “blobs” and other objects to my moving brass sculptures. The result is a strong, light, colorful, weatherproof yet kinetic 3-D sculpture.

Today, I design and craft 3D kinetic weatherproof sculptures in acrylic, glass, stone and metal and with solar-collectors and light-strings. For more than a decade I have drawn on my background in hang glider building and electronics repair to create these whimsical lighted moving sculptures in glass and acrylic. They can be displayed in the home or garden.

Recently, I also began experimenting with making large natural-creature sculptures using acrylic, solar collectors and metal.

For the past 15 years, I have been invited to 15 to 20 juried art shows each year, in the Southeast and Midwest. When my work is going well I feel alive, content and constructive — as if I am putting the world as I see it into a way the world can see it.

My dream is to ramp up my current work and make it huge. I really want to make a big impression. I want people to look at my work and feel sheer joy, and I want them to think, “wow, how did you do this?”
