“Early on, I began to create work that emanated from both my mind and my subconscious. My work is thought out and planned, but once I start it takes on a life of its own that expresses my thoughts, feelings and current life events without my intent or my permission. Often it is subtle and only I can recognize what is there on the paper or canvas.
Other times, the feeling is there for everyone to experience without the full exposure of my life events. Occasionally it is blatantly there in front of me, and I have to decide whether it is for sharing or one that remains ‘in the artist’s collection’. I have refused to be limited to one medium or one style and continue to do whatever draws my interest. My art is the center of my spirituality and personal growth.”
