“My goal is to be that artist for people whose work they just appreciate and admire. For that reason, I would love to get into weddings and real estate photography. I want my art to help people make sense of the world around them.”

Originally from Miami, FL, Mickey Thriver grew up in Macon, GA. “I remember that my first interest in photography was in high school. Then it was just the thought of being able to freeze time that drew me in, having no idea it would grow into a passion. I am the second of four boys who were all raised by my mother, uncle and grandmother. This trio made it possible for me to graduate from high school in 2005, although I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I turned to heavy music, only for it to be the bridge that returned me to photography and to a passion like no other.

In 2022, I quit my job and began the pursuit of my music career. Months later, I bought my first camera with intentions of shooting my own music videos. That’s not the way it went. I took my first shot and it was history. I found something that I not only loved yet again but something I could also do for many years to come, which itself was the anchor. I got in the field quickly with all the equipment the pros use, embracing the trial and error stages but learning each time.”
