Rick Sanders
Painting
“I am primarily an oil painter, working a lot with realistic
technique even when the content is not about realism.
My latest abstract works are centered around the concept
of House and Home. In these paintings, I am exploring color, space and mood. While I see the need to explore a single line
of artistic inquiry, I am also aware that my interests include painting images that are not visually related.”
Rick Sanders has been creating art since childhood. He began creating professionally in the late seventies, and earned a masters’ degree in art education from the University of South Florida in 1985. He became proficient in a variety of media so he could teach art to students in preschools, colleges and adult education, while also teaching about the historical advancement
of many styles of art. His two great loves as an artist are oil painting and photography, but he also excels in pastels, pen-and-ink, charcoal, colored-pencil drawing, and mixed media.
An award-winning artist, Rick has shown his work across the United States and has been distributed worldwide. He has written for years and has several novels under his belt with “thewordverve”. Now he uses his imagination to paint pictures with words. He is a member of AVA in Chattanooga, TN and also displays his work at High Country Art in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
