“Folksy Fish” is a presentation of ceramic fish sculptures created by McCallie middle school 8th grade art students.  These whimsical fish are inspired by the work of North Carolina Appalachian folk artists.  The young McCallie artists used slab building techniques to create their sculptures.  After choosing their subject fish, the students made smaller versions as practice before moving on to complete the larger versions of their fishes.

Music will be provided by the McCallie String Quartet.

"Works on Walls"
by Margaret Park

Live Demonstration
Saturday, April 20th 11-1 & 2-5

“There is something magical about watercolor,” Park says. “The transparency of the paint allows the color to really glow, and I love the way it flows and combines. The way I approach watercolor allows me to access my subconscious more easily than with any other medium, which leads to painting that is spontaneous and expressive.”

Welcome New Artist!
Sarah Feustle

Sarah’s technique employs epoxy resin on canvas. This lustrous medium is perfect for rendering the sea.  “With each ocean resin painting,” Sarah says, “I pour my heart into creating unique pieces that spread joy. Though the path to becoming a resin artist had challenges, the delight of the viewer is what truly makes every struggle worthwhile.”
